I could not have had a more amazing Wednesday evening. Last night, I had the opportunity to attend this year’s annual Goodwill Fashion Show and had an unforgettable experience. Not only did I get a chance to learn more about Goodwill’s efforts with providing job opportunities to the public, but I was also able to meet other fashionistas who love Goodwill as much as I do.
For me, the best part of the event was the inclusion of a Goodwill Pop-Up Trunk Show on the premises of the show. As you know, I love to thrift. So thrifting on a Wednesday evening while eating good food and sipping wine was definitely something I’d like to do every weekday evening.
Now, let’s talk about the show. First off, the soundtrack was amazing — if I were to host my own show, I’d play Cyndi Lauper and Prince as well. The clothes? Super diverse, glamorous, and unexpected. This year’s theme was work clothing, and the various types of attire that one can wear to work. And the work clothing in this show did not just include business attire…. it included the work clothing that one would wear while playing sports, dancing ballet, and more. This feature was an unexpected spice of flare that I did not think would be showcased during the evening.
Anyways… let’s look to some of my favorite looks, my own look, and my purchases!
I wore a vintage disco black maxi dress, vintage purple earrings, and vintage metal-toned shoes from Bloomingdale’s. All purchased from thrift stores!
At the Goodwill Trunk Show, I purchased some amazing vintage Necessary Objects palazzo pants with Roman art for about $6.
This dress was my favorite dress of the evening. If only it fit me!
Thanks Goodwill for an amazing night. I look forward to coming to the show next year! Shoutout to the DC Goodwill Fashionista for inviting me to the show — it was great meeting you!
